ADHD AND AUSTISM REFERRAL PATHWAY

AUTISM

Adults:

  • Complete the self-assessment form.

Submit a self-referral via the website: https://www.elft.nhs.uk/services/adult-autism-service-tower-hamlets

Children:

  • It is recommended that parents speak to the child’s teacher to initiate a referral through the school pathway.
  • GPs will typically ask parents to complete a detailed form via the school before proceeding with an autism referral.

ADHD

Adults:

First complete this questionnaire: https://add.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/adhd-questionnaire-ASRS111.pdf

  • After completing, inform your GP which provider you wish to be referred to.

Options for referral include:

  1. NHS local Tower Hamlets service
  2. Right to Choose:
Due to long NHS waiting times, you may consider alternative providers through the Right to Choosescheme: https://adhduk.co.uk/right-to-choose or Right To Choose (ADHD) - Psychiatry-UK

Children:

  • Referral can be requested via the school.
  • Alternatively, request a referral through your GP. Parents will need to complete the ADHD children’s form before referral.
